PROPARAGUAY,
General Direction of Export and Investment Promotion, is an
institution depending on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The organization created in October 1991 whose purpose is to
promote Paraguayan exports of non-traditional products and the
investment of national and foreign capital in support of Paraguay¡¯s
economic development.
PROPARAGUAY in the performance of functions and services
has three Directions: Export Promotion; Investment Promotion
and Trade Information.
In the task of support and coordination of its functions
in the country, for the pursuit and evaluation of the activities,
as well as the proposal of actions and measures in the matters
of its competition, PROPARAGUAY counts with a Council, presided
over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and integrated by
six entrepreneurs. The Director General of PROPARAGUAY performs
the Executive Secretariat of the Council.
The functions of PROPARAGUAY overseas are carried out through
the external network, Embassies and Consulates of Paraguay,
which work in coordination with the central office of Asuncion.
